The Magpies head into the international break on a high after beating the Tigers 2-1 at St. James' Park.

Joe Willock helped himself to the opener, finishing from close range after being played in on goal by Harvey Barnes.

Barnes would also put the ball on a plate for Lewis Hall just four minutes later, with the defender doubling United's lead in front of the Leazes End.

Each of the trio impressed throughout the tie, working tirelessly to ensure Matthias Jaissle's side head into the international break on a high.

Sean Steur was another who enjoyed a solid performance, dictating the play in the middle of the park, while Lewis Miley filled in at right-back expertly for the home side.

After the post-match vote, goalscorer Hall was named fans' Player of the Match with 43% of the vote. Willock finished second with 21% and Barnes scooped third place with 17%.
