The Newcastle United Women schemer started for the Republic of Ireland against the USA in Colorado on Thursday.

She played for the opening 63 minutes as the home side ran out 4-0 winners. The two sides meet again on Sunday, this time in Ohio, when Murphy will hope to add to her international experience.

Joel has been named in the Wales squad for their historic Women's European Championship debut this summer.

The versatile Newcastle United Women player - who joined the Magpies from London City Lionesses last year - is part of Rhian Wilkinson's 23-strong group for the tournament which takes place in Switzerland in July.

Wales are in Group D alongside England, France and the Netherlands and Joel has eight caps for Cymru.

They face the Netherlands on 5th July and France on 9th July before taking on England on 13th July.
